Nicole Wandera is a Kenyan-born Black artist, illustrator and activist working in the Washington DC area. Her painting Strange Fruit premiered at the Kennedy Center in 2024 as part of Portraits; she was a juried Post-Grad Resident at the Torpedo Factory Art Center, showed the solo exhibition We Meet Again at IA&A at Hillyer in 2023, and completed a four-part public mural series in NoMa, Washington DC.
